Pradosh Vrat

In India, there are many chances throughout the year to seek out the light.

Pradosh Vrat is such an opportunity to turn one’s back on darkness to receive divine blessings of good health, wealth, and wisdom.

With reverence to Lord Shiva, the removal of darkness from your heart, mind and spirit is guaranteed.  Darkness in yoga is often attributed to ignorance of the mind.  Maya or samsara is the delusions of one’s own mind.  Overcoming the mind occurs when one overcomes this maya or confusion.  This is in yoga known as the removal of darkness.

Join us for a wonderful day and evening!

Guru Purnima

Guru Purnima

What is a Guru?

In Sanskrit, it is a term which means “the dispeller of darkness.”

The literal meaning is “the finger pointing at the moon.”  That is to say that a guru points us to the light as we sit in the darkness of our foregoing mind.

To many, the word darkness connotes to negative feelings and thoughts.  In yoga, this darkness is not to demean nor condemn.  It is not an insult.  It simply translates to an “ignorance or lack of understanding” that plagues all of humanity.

As we celebrate our Guru’s birth, we honor the wisdom and light that he illuminates upon our “darkness” or ignorance.

Navaratri ~ Honoring the Divine Feminine
Oct

Navaratri ~ Honoring the Divine Feminine

Navaratri, traditionally, is a festival that spans 9 nights honoring the many aspects of the divine mother, known as "Shakti." Shakti is the innate intelligence that drives the growth and movement of all life.

Every action we take effects the world around us and will either enhance life or diminish it. The result of our collective actions as a species is not a good one! We can see this in our environmental issues, as one of many examples. But the immense beauty of being the cause of an issue is that we also hold the solution!

This festival dives into and celebrates our power to live in alignment with "Shakti" or our natural place within the life cycle, to alter the course we are presently on, healing the earth instead of being the causations of her demise! Together we CAN turn around the collective trajectory of humanity!

New to Yoga? An avid practitioner? Either way this is the perfect opportunity to learn the incredible depth and breadth of what Yoga has to offer. Join us for a day of celebration with live music, amazing food, enlightening discourse and discussion, illuminating ceremony and insight! All uniting us in our true purpose as human beings. See you soon!
